🛕 Destination guide
Bangkok
Bangkok rewards a base near the river or a SkyTrain stop. The grand temples share a morning; the markets and the food belong to the evening. These plans are estimates we wrote, with a credit to the post that suggested the shape of the days.
Best time to visit
When to go, written in our own words. Highlighted months are the ones we would book first.
| Month | What we would expect |
|---|---|
| Jan | Cool and dry. The best walking weather of the year, and the temples are busy with visitors who know that. |
| Feb | Still dry and warm. A first-choice month if the hotel is already priced sanely. |
| Mar | Heat builds. Start the palace early and keep the afternoon indoors or on the river. |
| Apr | Songkran water fights take over the streets. Fun if you packed for it, chaotic if you did not. |
| May | Hot, with the first heavy rains. The city still works; the pace should slow at midday. |
| Jun | Green season. Storms are short and the hotel rates ease. Carry a compact umbrella. |
| Jul | Regular rain and fewer crowds. Good for food and museums, less ideal for a floating-market morning. |
| Aug | Similar to July. Book the indoor pieces and treat a clear evening as a bonus. |
| Sep | Still wet. The river is high. A fine month if the group likes cities more than beaches. |
| Oct | Rains taper. Humidity stays. The city starts to feel easier after sunset. |
| Nov | Dry season opens. This is when we would book a first trip. |
| Dec | Peak. Cool evenings, full hotels, and the night markets at their brightest. |
Typical budget
Per person per day, computed from 4 public TopVacay trips in Bangkok. Planning ranges from those itineraries, not a live quote.
Where to stay
The hotel on these plans sits by the Chao Phraya so the temples and Wat Arun are a boat, not a project.
Yaowarat is the dinner neighborhood. Go hungry and do not schedule anything after that needs a quiet voice.
The SkyTrain spine for a day that ends at a mall or a park. Useful, not romantic.

Questions people ask
Is the floating market worth a morning?
On a five-day plan, yes, as one half-day. It is a tour, not the soul of the city. Keep the other days in town.
Are these prices quotes?
No. Temple fees, the hotel, and the flight are estimates we stored. They are labeled that way on the trip.
How do we credit the blogs?
Each trip says Inspired by, names the blog, and links the original post. Where we could not confirm a byline, only the blog name is shown.
